Why Health & Safety Matters to Us

At Push Power, safety is central to every project's success. Our team’s well-being is our top priority, and we continually update our safety protocols to meet industry needs. While health and safety can sometimes be seen as a set of rules, we focus on fostering a positive safety culture. This encourages open communication, ongoing learning, and shared responsibility, making safety a core part of our work

Push Power prioritises strict safety measures across all operations. We work with approved subcontractors to ensure adherence to safety standards, including electrical safety and fall protection for roof installations. A high level of personal protective equipment is provided.

How we report.

All site staff and office staff have the facility to report near misses, incidents and safety bulletins using mobile platforms.  These reports are sent to the Health and Safety team and uploaded immediately.

The Health and Safety team review the detail and upload information and images to our online portal.  This is then formulated into graphical form for constant review with the Management Team. Our Executive Team review this on a regular basis to identify trends and spikes in specific areas for potential learning and training.

This detail is totally transparent and we encourage our clients to ask us for details on what happened and how we improve as a business. We track and detail all Health and Safety incidents and are available at any time to our clients.

Awareness of mental health in construction has risen significantly over the past few years, thanks to the efforts of organisations and charities making strides in the right direct. We are learning from these organisations, as well as other companies and individuals, to implement similar initiatives and strengthen our approach to workforce health management.

Statistics gathered by the Health and Safety Executive paint an alarming picture, underscoring the urgency of addressing mental health challenges within the construction industry and prioritising the well-being of our workforce.

Push are committed to prioritising mental health through initiatives such as mental health first aid training, regular wellness check-ins, flexible working arrangements, and access to confidential support services. By fostering open conversations, equipping managers to support their teams, and creating quiet spaces on-site, we aim to build a supportive and healthy working environment for all.

Excavation

Excavations create numerous hazards such as but not limited to: falls from height, potential suffocation, drowning, public safety concerns, damage to utilities and foundations. All excavations are carefully planned and risk assessed and authorised only by permit.

Moog lifting

Lifting Operations

We frequently lift loads onto rooftops in populated areas. While all lifts are carefully planned, they carry inherent risks. Lifting only occurs once a lift plan is approved, personnel competence is verified, equipment meets required standards, and the activity is authorised by permit. Manual handling is also common with PV systems, and improper handling of awkward modules can lead to injury

Working at Heights

This is a routine activity for Push Power, but familiarity must not lower our standards. Even small falls can have serious consequences, so the safe use of a step-up should be treated with the same care as edge protection on a 20m roof. Key components of safe work at height include detailed RAMS, up-to-date training, and serviceable equipment.

Electrical
Isolation

Electrical isolation is a frequent activity on our sites but focus must never be lost on the potentially lethal consequences of not carrying out isolation procedures correctly.

Central to safe isolation is locking switches and tagging them or “lock out tag out”.
